We are utilizing 8 unused fish ponds located just after the entrance gate to our farm. The area is about 5000m2. The first step was to flatten the ground. This was no easy job considering the previous land use. We had 2 man-power working full time for the whole week just to prepare the are.
After the area was ready, we planted approximately 0.5kg of seeds. In the first month, the growth was a bit worrying, as they were not really uniform. Some of them were significantly smaller compared to the others. We are not sure why, but our best guess is because the land has been 'sleeping' for a long time.
Anyways, it's been 2 months since seeding and the corn trees are about 80cm high in average. We are looking forward to our first corn harvesting in about 1 month... :) and of course Corn BBQ!!
